New Grammar Instructional Books
Over the last few months, we’ve been working hard to bring primary grammar and conventions lessons to our Lalilo students. We are using the Common Core Language Standards as a basis for our lesson planning and writing. So far, you can find grammar and conventions lessons covering all Kindergarten and part of the first grade standards. With the new grammar instructional books on Lalilo, students will work on topics like capitalization and punctuation, parts of speech, and building sentences.

We realize grammar content is tricky for many students, and we know it’s one of those things teachers seldom have enough time to teach well, so we’re trying to help you out by providing instructional books to teach about many of these topics.
Right now, our Grammar Instructional Books include:
- Nouns
- Verbs
- Verb Tenses
- Possessive Nouns
- Proper Nouns
Students are guided through each concept in these lessons, building on what they’ve already learned and practicing through scaffolded questions with feedback to help them understand. Then they will work on exercises that allow them to practice these skills more independently.
In the next few months, we’ll be adding to our Grammar and Conventions lessons to cover all K-2 concepts in these standards. Keep an eye out for lessons covering more parts of speech (adjectives, adverbs, conjunctions, and prepositions), more complex punctuation (commas and apostrophes), and types of sentences.
Head to your teacher dashboard to check which of your students have already worked on Grammar and Conventions lessons!
